it doesn't list a town but it looks like the eastern NC CL is in the fayetteville area. If someone is around the area and is willing to look if it's close I'll call the guy and get a location.

He sounds like a nice guy, said he's had it for about 20 years and it was painted 12 ago and any rust was patched with new metal at the time.
Location is Wilson, about 50 miles east of raleigh. He said give him a call and come see/drive it and report back, and if i want it based on that he'll pull the ad without a deposit and i can come get it.
Biggest things for me:
Rust
Interior panels, not necessarily color but existence
Rust
Runs/drives/stops
Rust
Overal condition
Numbers on title match numbers on car
If you can eye it up for me i'll be forever in your debt, or buy you dinner.
If nobody can look i may commit to it anyway as seller seemed honest, had the right answers without delay, and sounds like a typical car guy, overwhelmed with a 55 chevy project and time to part ways with the wagon because he has 7 cars.

I love those wagons, especially in silver, but I'm guessing that it's not the original color, if that even matters to you. I'm not sure if a silver car would have left the factory with tan interior.

Chances are i'd go black inside with some modern seats.
I'm looking for a clean bodied driver quality car, this one looks like that with some tweaks. Shift knob would be first to go, wheels would get moved to the other chevelle, and it would get dropped slightly. And find a factory roof rack would be high on the list

just got home to the computer, going to look at the big pictures.
at this point unless i can get it for significantly less than asking price, it's probably a no-go. i just don't want to deal with rust, and if i'm shelling out 5K+ for something it's got to have none. plus i saw lots of wire nuts and sloppy wiring.
i'm at the point in life where i'd rather be extremely picky and wait for the right one to come along and pay a little more for something ready to go than to settle for something just based on price alone.
and this is why i love GRM. i owe you, whether you think so or not, for putting eyes on the car for me.
