We love the Water Parks season here in North Texas, especially when Memorial Day comes around and the kids are out of school for the Summer.

Some Outdoor Water Parks near me open early in May and stay open at the weekends during September. If you live close by, you might find it worthwhile purchasing a Season Pass. If you’re only planning one visit a day pass would work best.

If the weather isn’t ideal, we have ideas for you to take your Water Park experience indoors too.

Outdoor Water Parks near me in Plano

Tom Muehlenbeck Center

Address: 5801 W Parker Road, Plano, TX 75093

Mon-Fri 4 pm – 7:45 pm
Sat & Sun 1 pm – 4:45 pm

For a budget friendly price, the Tom Muehlenbeck Center features a shallow-water leisure pool with a sitting area and fountains, water volleyball, play structure for toddlers and a variety of spray features.

The outdoor facility also has three large slides with run-outs, one of them is enclosed. The outdoor facility offers a separate entrance along with bathrooms, showers, concessions and party areas to rent.

The outdoor tables and private areas are popular for birthdays and celebrations and can be booked directly through Plano Parks and Recreation.

Jack Carter Pool

Hours: Open for the Summer Season, Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day

The costs are the same as Tom Muehlenbeck Center. Access to both the Jack Carter Pool, Tom Muehlenbeck Center, and all other Parks and Recreation facilities is included in a membership (monthly and annual options)

Challenge a friend to a race down the Preston Plunge, conquer The Fort, or float the Lazy River, and much more. You’ll find plenty of shade and a concession stand, too.
They have a large pool and for little kids, the Squirt Station: a large interactive play structure is especially designed for young children with two water slides and multiple spray features. This area includes a large water tower called the Gully Washer. When the whistle blows, prepare to be drenched.

This is one of our really great local Water Parks, which is small but super fun and an easy experience.

Hawaiian Waters is not too big and not too small – this is the perfect size to keep track of your kiddos. They have some great slides, a fun wave pool, and sprinkle areas with a cute play area for little kiddos and a lazy river.

If you have little kids, The Colony location seems to be a better fit than the Garland one.

NRH 20 North Richland Hills

What we love about this Water Park

Frogstein’s Splashatory is a five level interactive water playground that offers an opportunity for the entire family to have fun in the water together. The attraction consists of eight slides, interactive water activities and a giant 317-gallon tipping beaker that periodically spills water on the guests waiting below. Their shaded structure covers a portion of the pool so families can play for hours without exposure to direct sunlight.

The Tadpole Swimming Hole is for younger kids. Kids can slide down various slides and try their skills on the balancing nets and lily pads. There are also three smaller water-slides for the kids; the yellow slide is the only place where a parent can ride a slide with a child in their lap.

The NRH2Ocean, more commonly known as the wave pool, is a 12,000 square foot, 225,000 gallon wave pool that can be enjoyed by all guests. Generally, the waves are on for 10 minutes, then off for 10 minutes.

Slides including the Green Extreme: At 1,161 feet long and 81 feet tall, the Green Extreme is the world’s largest uphill water-coaster. Take a virtual ride of the Green Extreme and the Viper: The Viper is a thrill ride for the family. Guests will experience high banking turns and a heart-pounding drop into a 20 foot MEGAtube, creating a one-of-a-kind attraction and ride experience the whole family will enjoy together.

Guests can recharge on the white sand beach or in the relaxing waters of the 5,300-square-foot pool at Beachside Bay. The bay also features a sand volleyball court and Tech Deck- a charging station for devices such as cell phones, computers and tablets

Part of the Six Flags family, Hurricane Harbor brings youthat Six Flags version – making this one of our mega Water Parks!

All the waterpark attractions you would expect to see, and there are a ton of them.

Jade Waters at the Hilton Anatole

Jade Watersis not one of those typical big scale Water Parks; it is a resort-style pool which also has:

They have 180-foot slides (one tubed and one open) for endless splashing fun, a Kids area with a7000 sq. Ft. Splash and Play Kids Zone. It includes a large water dump bucket tower that empties every minute, water playscape and basketball hoops.

The 630 ft Lazy River flows past waterfalls, spray bars, and several garden sculptures and a 4-ft leisure pool, open year-round allowing guests to splash and sip with their favorite co*cktail.

Splash Kingdom Waterpark (near Canton)

Free parking and tubesare included.. Season passes start at $95 and have varying levels above that for upgrades.

Their slides, combined with a huge wave pool, a lazy river and a Met Racer with a bonus Flow Rider too makes this a great water park to go to within an easy drive from Plano.

At only 20 miles south of Fort Worth and 46 miles west of Dallas, Pirates Cove is perfect for a family-friendly, affordable day trip from anywhere in the metroplex!

Pirates’ Cove is a pirate-themed water park adventure! Just beyond the south shores of Fort Worth in Burleson, TX, it is an oasis of water, sun, and shade for the entire family.

You’ll have plenty to explore:

You can rent lockers and cabanas and the usual food options are available

For those who wish to bring a cooler for a picnic or who have special diet requirements, we welcome you to bring coolers to leave in your vehicle. You may exit the park and tailgate or use available picnic at tables, nearby outside the park.

Pirates’ Cove Water Park does not permit outside food and drink, except for bottled water.

Castaway Cove, Wichita Falls

Owned by the City of Wichita Falls, it’s well maintained and clean. The pricing is on par with most waterparks. Food and snacks are pricey but that’s normal for Water Parks.

Great for littles with plenty of shade and covered tables. Parking is free

Splashway Waterpark

Splashway Waterpark offers both a water park and a campground!

At the Texas waterpark they have heart-pounding thrill slides, a lazy river, 2 wave pools, private cabana rentals, toddler-only splash zones, 2 cafes, tableside service, Dippin’ Dots, the list goes on.

Lifejackets, tubes, and parking are always free and personal coolers are welcome inside this waterpark.

They also have their own campground, each of the lodging options come with a fire pit and access to amazing amenities.

This Texas campground offers fishing, kayaking, peddle carts, a dog park, cabins and cottages for rent, RV sites, tent sites, an on-site camp store, and so much more!

The RV sites can accommodate a wide range of RVs, motorhomes, pop-ups, and fifth wheels. Each RV site comes with full hook ups and your choice of 30- or 50-amp sites and pull through or back in options. We definitely recommend renting an RV through RVShare.com too!

If you want to be truly one with nature, there are spacious tent sites with access to electricity, water, and, of course, all the family fun Splashway has to offer.
